Help us present our project in South Africa!
Last year, STELLAR was able to design, test, build, and launch a project to the International Space Station in 9 months! Our plan is to bring our project, a dirt-to-electricity fuel cell to a church in South Africa to provide electricity for them with their dirt!
STELLAR (Space Technology and Engineering for Launching Life Application Research) serves as a platform for students to conduct research in microgravity on the International Space Station that will positively impact life on Earth and share the gospel on a local and global scale. This last year, we created a microbial fuel cell (MFC) which can convert organic waste in electricity. We received positive results and concluded on a successful launch and project outcome!
This year, STELLAR’s goal is to optimize this technology, not for outer-space travel again, but for international travel. Partnering with a team going to South Africa to run a Vacation Bible School (VBS), we are hoping to bring this technology in the form of a lantern for the church.
Being able to provide the church the opportunity to create electricity out of dirt to light their dark room and read the Bible is the overarching goal of our program.
Your support and donation will go towards allowing us to build a lantern that converts dirt to electricity so that we can bring it to a church in Africa that will use it to read and teach the Bible.
Thank you!
