The GCU Hospitality Management Club provides students with direct connections to organizations in the hospitality and tourism industries through property tours, networking events, mentorship, and hands-on experience working at industry events.
The Club supports students by informing them of career-building and leadership development opportunities. Past activities include the annual Best Western Corporate Networking Event; Taste Plate at Hillstone restaurant; volunteering at the Phoenix Italian Festival, the McDowell Mountain Music Festival (M3F), and various industry events hosted by The Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association and Visit Phoenix; tours of Secret Garden at Wedgewood Weddings, Rise Uptown Hotel, Hyatt Regency Phoenix, Arizona Biltmore, The Camby Hotel, Troon Country Club, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Shamrock Foods, the Phoenix Convention Center, Palomar Kimpton Hotel Downtown, Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale and Renaissance Phoenix.
The Club would like to continue to visit hospitality and tourism organizations around the Valley to expose our members to the scope of the industry and network with leaders. Travel and transportation costs have hindered our ability to explore organizations outside of Phoenix. We would like to visit other parts of the Greater Phoenix Valley and the state of Arizona. The Club would also like to increase the number of on-campus networking events for our students to meet with industry leaders.
Financial support through Day of Giving will help us deliver these experiences to our students.
