Grand Canyon University’s Fostering Futures Program is committed to providing students who have experienced foster care with the necessary resources and support to help them achieve their higher education goals and earn a college degree.
Initial Support Needed by Each Student: • Sheets and pillowcases XL Twin • Towels • Pillows • Mattress topper • Blankets • Comforter/bedspread • Clothes hangers • Laundry bag/basket
Continuous Support: • Food & water • Toiletries • Cleaning supplies • Laundry detergent • Undergarments • Dorm decor • Additional funds for meal plans
Creating a family environment that fosters strong connections.
• The Fostering Futures scholarships program provides financial assistance to local youth who are transitioning out of the foster care system.
• The scholarship recipients have the opportunity to work directly with the Fostering Futures Student Administrator, and they are provided with access to community, mentorship, resources, life skills, tutoring, and student worker opportunities to help them succeed.
• Scholarship recipients gain valuable experience through job opportunities located on campus.
• Scholarship recipients are assigned a GCU mentor to help them build and maintain relationships that will benefit them in their personal, academic, and professional endeavors.
• Scholarship recipients have the ability to stay on campus year round.
